What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive, hands-on complimentary therapy where the practitioner applies pressure to specific points on the hands or feet. There are long-term benefits to regular sessions, however the beneficial effects on the nervous system are often felt immediately.
The roots of reflexology are dated as far back as the astrologer-physicians of Ancient Egypt. The oldest known depiction of both hand and foot reflexology was found in the tomb of a physician named Ankmahor, dated around 2500 BCE. This physician was a very powerful person during that time, only second to the King. In these tomb paintings the practitioners are understood to be interested in easing conditions or preventing illness.
Various forms of reflexology have been developed in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Different practitioners will offer different methods. The method a practitioner is trained in will vary the levels of pressure, techniques applied to hands and/or feet, require the use of powder, oil or nothing, and whether the practitioners utilize tools during their sessions.
how does katherine work?
Using my hands, I apply pressure to the feet. I use oil and do not use any additional tools. My method is both thoughtfully and intuitively led, offering more strength and pressure when needed, while maintaining a relaxing massage-like sensation throughout.
While my reflexology offerings are for every woman, I have specialized training in reproductive wellness. As a Holistic Birth Keeper and Reproductive Practitioner I am committed to walking with women through their childbearing years, easing major hormonal transitions, and assisting the body to heal dis-ease within the womb or without one.
Investment
You may experience individual reflexology sessions with me as a Holistic Birth Care client, Sacred Homebirth Mentorship client, or a Holistic Conception Guidance client for $55. Packages of 4 also available for $200.
I do not offer reflexology sessions outside of my current clients.
